Dan Lannon, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., played lacrosse at a young age, having two older brothers that played. In high school (Fayetteville-Manlius HS, NY), he played defense, was captain of the varsity team and an "All County" selection. Dan was selected to the Central Region of the Empire State Games and helped his team to a Silver Medal in 1986. In college he played at Syracuse University ‘91 as a long stick middie and defenseman where he won three NCAA D1 National Championship rings.
Dan has refereed and coached in various youth leagues in NY, PA, and AZ for the last 30 years. He is a certified high school and college official, and has played and officiated at numerous post-collegiate tournaments all over the country.
Dan started coaching at Desert Vista High School in 2008. He was named the AZ Coach of the Year by his peers for the 2009 and 2014 season.
Dan founded the annual Lax4Life Charity Lacrosse Tournament in 2008 and with assistance from Desert Vista Lacrosse Parents, he was able to grow the only charity tournament on the west coast donating thousands of dollars to local kids with cancer and to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He is the Director of Az Hot Sauce and recently began a position with Legacy Sports USA as the Director of Lacrosse. Dan worked with at-risk youth and disabled children for 20 years in an experiential learning program. Currently Dan works at Mesquite High School as a Special Education Teacher. Dan’s son Connor (11) and Lexi (15) are multi-sport athletes and enjoy getaways to the beach and the mountains whenever possible.
PJ Rovinelli Varsity Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator (508) 479-5836
Coach PJ has spent the last 15 years coaching lacrosse and rugby in Arizona at the collegiate, amateur and high school levels, including University of Arizona, ASU and GCU.
During his three-year span at Chaparral High School, PJ compiled a 47-14 (77%) record, leading the team to back-to-back state title appearances, winning one in 2011. His teams developed 18 All-Conference player selections, 2 All-Americans and 1 Academic All-American.
A Massachusetts native, he was a high school All-American goalie and state champion wrestler. PJ continued both careers at NCAA DIII Springfield College (MA). Professionally, he is the Director of Talent Development at Ewing Irrigation and Landscape Supply in Phoenix, AZ.
Andrew Muscara Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach "Moose" Muscara is a graduate of Chandler High School, where he was a two-time all-state selection and was an All-American nominee as a senior. He went on to play at the University of Vermont as a face-off specialist, and in his senior year he led the team in face-off percentage and ground balls. He graduated in 2015 and currently works as a web developer.
Coach "Bud" Neff, a native to Phoenix, Arizona, was a member of the Desert Vista Lacrosse Team from 2011-2015.
After graduating, Coach Neff continued his lacrosse career at NCAA DIII Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY where he started as the FOGO specialist for 3 years.
He graduated with a double major in Chemistry and Physics and is now in his second year pursuing a PhD in Chemistry at Arizona State University.
Kyle Mox JV Head Coach

Coach Mox joined the DV Coaching Staff in 2021. A native of Michigan, he was founding member of the Lansing Waverly lacrosse club, where he was an all-state midfielder, before going on to play collegiately for the Western Michigan University men's lacrosse club in Kalamazoo.
Coach Mox has been coaching lacrosse for over eight years, has served as president of the Ahwatukee Lightning lacrosse club, and is the current president of Youth Lacrosse of Arizona. An Associate Dean at Arizona State University, he prioritizes holistic development in his players and promotes emotional, ethical, and physical intelligence alongside "lax IQ."
Ben Callaghan JV Assistant Coach
Ben Callaghan is a recent graduate from the University of Arizona where he played lacrosse as a Defensive and Transition Midfield. As a freshman, he received the “most valuable rookie” award. Ben attended Desert Vista from 2012 to 2016. There he went to the state championship twice, winning one of them his junior year as a faceoff specialist. He was also recognized as the “Team MVP” his senior year.
Ben was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona down south in Tucson. When he has free time, he enjoys fishing, traveling, and spending time with his four dogs.
